UBC is committed to Investors in People having achieved this award in 2005. We believe this is a fundamental tool in the continued development of all members of our team.

Our ethos encourages personal development at all levels, providing employees with the opportunity to build on their existing knowledge. This enables the company to develop a skilled workforce and become the employer of choice within its area of operation.

UBC is recognised as a major supporter of the Modern Apprenticeship system and has trained hundreds of apprentices throughout all construction trades. While many of these tradesmen have remained with the company, others have taken their skills across the country and indeed the world.

UBC has a proud heritage of promoting and supporting construction apprentice training and we currently employ a range of apprentices across the group of companies, having taken on a number of new apprentices in the current year.

In addition we sponsor several professional staff through Continued Professional Development to degree level in a number of disciplines including quantity surveying, through day release and distance learning routes.
