The World Island Games 2007
Our Commercial Director in the Western Isles, Ian MacRury, accompanied the Western Isles' team to Athens for the Natwest World Island Games in July 2007.
The team, sponsored by UBC, performed exceptionally well in temperatures that at times peaked in the high 80’s!
In total the Western Isles team won 6 medals, including a first ever Gold Medal - courtesy of Eilidh MacKenzie in the 800 metres. Eilidh's achievement was exceptional, given the strength of the field and the truly testing temperatures.
