Appointed to the Board as Contracts Director in 1980. James took the business, as project manager, to the Island of Lewis in 1986 and from there the company grew in turnover and staff from 30 people to 150 by 2001. Since arriving in Inverness in 2001 James has led and established Joint Venture Partnerships and stand-alone ventures which have again taken the Company forward in size and recognition in all areas. He was appointed to the Board as Chief Executive in September 2004.

Appointed to the Board in 1986. Iain covers the Western Isles Area in his Directorship and is responsible for all the main contracts in the Islands. During his career he worked closely with James Pedrana while the growth of business was taking place on the islands, and took over the management of this area in housing, commercial and civil engineering contracts when he was appointed as Managing Director in September 2004.

Appointed to the Board in September 2004. Colin is the Managing Director of UBC Civils. Colin trained as a Site Engineer with Tarmac Construction and worked in their major projects division for 3 years, following this he returned to UBC Group with Quantity Surveying and management roles.

Appointed to the Board as Mechanical and Electrical Director in 1980. Angus is member of NICEIC and SELECT ensuring the company maintains requirements for membership. Angus is responsible for the training and development of apprenticeships in the Electrical Division. Angus’ career in the company spans 30 years and the Electrical Division has grown to cover the changes and new growth within the company.

Angus has over 18 years of experience in the management and operational delivery of construction projects throughout the UK, working with major contractors including HBG, Skanska, and Carillion.
Angus’ previous role as managing director of the Construction Executive at Robertson Group involved him in the monitoring, support, and development of six regional construction businesses with a combined turnover of £160m.
His experience includes Health, Education, Rail, Retail, Commercial, and industrial projects ranging through traditional, partnering, negotiated, design and build procurement routes. He has extensive experience in PFI/PPP and was responsible for Carillion’ educational PFI portfolio in Scotland.
Donald was appointed to the Board in September 2004. He is Director for Skye and Lochalsh. In that region he has completed major contracts he has led and established a new team which is developing the Company's presence in this area.
Iain Sutherland, has been with the UBC Group for almost two years, having joined the Company from the construction division of the Stewart Milne Group. Iain is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He has worked on a large variety of projects over the years and has held managerial positions with other major construction companies. Iain has great experience of Project Management - much of that expertise was gained working on PFI contracts in the north east of Scotland. Iain was recently promoted from Commercial Manager to Area Director UBC North.
Ian was promoted from Commercial Manager to Commercial Director UBC Hebrides, last January. He currently lives in Benbecula and has worked in the industry for over thirty years and with the UBC Group for eight years. Ian has been involved in the commercial management of construction projects covering all sectors of the industry and virtually every form of contract prevalent in today’s market. He has had particular involvement in the procurement and management of subcontractors on major projects up to £30m in value. 
Appointed as Finance Director in December 2006, Steve is responsible for UBC Group’s finance, HR, IT, QMS, and administration functions.
Steve joined UBC from Stewart Milne Construction where he was FD for a number of years. Previous roles include board positions with other major construction companies including Morrison Construction Highland and treasurer for McDermott’s European operations.
Steve has an honours degree from Aberdeen University, a postgraduate diploma in management studies from Robert Gordon University and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Appointed to the Board in October 2007. Alasdair, who’s from North Uist, is the Director of Marketing for the UBC Group. Between 1999 and 2007 he represented the Western Isles in the Scottish Parliament. For nine years prior to his career politics he worked for the BBC as a news and current affairs reporter. Since his appointment to the UBC Group Board he's been working with senior management on new business opportunities, and assisting the Company establish a base in the central belt of Scotland.

Appointed to the Board in September 2004. David is proprietor of Upland Developments, a property company based in Aviemore and with interests throughout Scotland. He is on the board of a number of other companies and is involved in many joint venture partnerships. David is a very valued member of the Board of management and is presently acting as Joint Chairman with Donald J. Peteranna.
