UBC Group Policy on Health and Safety
It is the stated policy of the UBC Group to take all reasonable measures to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of all our employees in fulfiliment of our moral, legal and economic responsibilities. These measures will also be aimed at protecting other persons who may be affected by our work.
It is a function of management to provide the right circumstances under which work may be carried out safely and to enable the aims of this policy to be realised. To this end, management will afford its full support to the development and implementation of measures to reduce workplace risks.Whilst it is acceptable that management have the principal duty to provide the framework for safe working, it is also recognised that employees have a duty to work in a safe manner and to co-operate in efforts made to create safe working conditions.
In order to maintain and improve upon our health and safety standards, the co-operation of all employees, at all levels is necessary.
This policy will be kept up to date, particularly as the business size or nature of work changes. To ensure this, the policy and its arrangements will be reviewed periodically and whenever significant changes occur.
